Hardly anyone can resist the coos and sighs of an adorable baby. They are such an important part of life. Their very presence, for some, bring joy even upon the saddest of hearts. In all of their beautiful, emotional triumph, they have an important characteristic that makes them less appealing at one time or another. They are extremely messy! Many parents have found traces of unmentionable stains on their carpets as well as clothing. Unfortunately, where there is a baby, dirt will follow. There has been a quest around the world to find out the best ways to remove spots from dirty baby clothes.

Here are some general guidelines that will help with any clothing mishaps that may arise. However, be strongly advised to read the instructions on the back of clothing labels, which offer laundering instructions, for that particular garment? Keeping baby clothes looking new can best be done through pre-treatment.

Traces of stains that are left behind on infant clothing will need to be scraped off. Make sure that this takes place before the actual treatment of the stain. Clothing can then placed in cool water and allow to soak to loosen the stain.

Now, no stain is the same. Each stain may need to treat differently than the next. For example, protein stains that comprised of breast milk, formula, or spit up may need to be treated with an enzyme cleaner and a brush that has soft bristles. Some popular brands may include Era Plus or Wisk. They help in digesting the protein that comes from the stain. If after treated a stain yet remains, use an all-purpose stain remover, and then wash as usual. These will hopefully change the outcome.

There are some stains that are oily and greasy. It will require a little elbow grease to get these out. Stains in this group usually come from petroleum jellies, baby oils, and creams. They usually can be treated with baby powder or corn starch. These powders help to absorb stains. Make sure to apply the powder directly to the stain and wait about 20 minutes. Scrape the powder off, pre-treat, and throw in the wash.

Now, there are some stains that will make the clothes washer want to cry. These are those that come from berries, colored juices, and fresh veggies. That's okay! These stains can be conquered as well by using a solution of two parts water and one part vinegar. Apply it directly to the stain and allow it to sit for 10 minutes or more. Spray on a combination solvent and put it in the washing machine.

Don't forget to check freshly washed baby clothes for stain remnants. Once they hit the dryer, stains are more set in, making them harder to get out. It stains still remain, continue to pre-treat them and try washing them again.

Removing stains from infant clothing is not an impossible thing to do. No matter what it looks like, it can be done. The best way to remove spots from dirty baby clothes just requires a little bit of research and patience.
